How to Generate Income

As a Certified Green Home Inspector, there are a number of ways in which
you can generate income.

These include:
  • Provide initial Green Home Inspection directly to homeowners and condominium owners.

  • Provide initial Green Home Inspections to owners of rental income residential property, including single-family homes, multi-family homes, and apartment complexes.

  • Provide ongoing, annual, or seasonal follow-up Green Home Audits to these clients.

  • Provide Green Home Inspection services to the developers of single- and multi-family residential properties.

  • Serve as a buying agent to investigate review, and purchase green home appliances, fixtures, and other supplies for these clients.

  • Partner with a residential real estate agent to provide Green Home Inspections, recommendations, and certifications as a means of promoting the sale of residential properties.

  • Partner with one or more interior designers, home remodelers, and/or landscape architects to provide Green Home Inspection services for home remodels.

  • Partner with local home improvement, plumbing, and other retail stores to provide Green Home Inspection services to their clients (perhaps offering them a fee-split or commission).

  • Partner with one or more plumbers, electricians, painters, lawn care specialists, pest-control specialists, and other home-service providers to supply Green Home Inspection services to their clients (perhaps offering them a fee-split or commission).

  • Partner with a credit counselor or other personal financial advisor to provide Green Home Inspection services to families seeking to reduce their home living budget.
  • Provide initial Green Workplace Inspections directly to small business owners, including offices, manufacturing or service facilities, retail establishments, and restaurants.

  • Provide initial Green Workplace Inspections to schools, colleges, churches, and other small commercial or nonprofit establishments.

  • Provide initial Green Workplace Inspections to owners of rental income commercial property, including office buildings, small office complexes, and long-term corporate housing.
  • Provide ongoing, annual, or seasonal follow-up Green Workplace Inspections to these clients.

  • Provide Green Workplace Inspections services to the developers of commercial properties like those described above.

  • Serve as a buying agent to investigate, review, and purchase green appliances, fixtures, and other supplies for these clients.
